Sonatype Named to Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for 2016

Leading software supply chain automation company ranked 313 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500

Fulton, MD – November 16, 2016  Sonatype, the leader in software supply chain automation, has been ranked number 313 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list for 2016. The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is an annual ranking of the fastest growing North American companies in the technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, and energy tech industries. This accolade comes on the heels of the company achieving record revenue and customer growth in the first half of 2016.

Awardees are selected for this honor based on the percentage of fiscal year revenue growth from 2012 to 2015. Overall, 2016 Technology Fast 500 companies achieved revenue growth ranging from 109 percent to 21,984 percent, with an average growth of 850 percent.

"It has been a tremendous year at Sonatype and being named to the Deloitte Fast 500 validates the growth and momentum we saw in the first half of this year and the need for the products and services we are providing,” said Wayne Jackson, CEO of Sonatype. “Modern development organizations have embraced software supply chain automation to scale their DevOps pipelines more than ever before. These organizations rely on the Nexus platform to provide them with precise intelligence about the quality and security of their open source components.”

As development organizations assemble increasingly more of their applications from components, the growth of software supply chain automation and its intersection with automated security vulnerability analysis is expected to continue at a strong pace over the coming years.  The strong and growing interest in DevOps best practices is evidenced by 13,443 attendees who yesterday participated in Sonatype’s inaugural All Day DevOps conference.

“By 2019, more than 70% of enterprise DevOps initiatives will have incorporated automated security vulnerability and configuration scanning for open source components and commercial packages, up from less than 10% in 2016”, wrote analysts Neil MacDonald and Ian Head, in the September 2016 Gartner report entitled DevSecOps: How to Seamlessly Integrate Security Into DevOps.

Winners were recognized on Tuesday, November 15 at an awards reception at the W Washington DC. Winners are also invited to join Deloitte at a future date in NYC for the NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony.  For the full list of rankings, click here.
